Duncan Brothers (Bangladesh) Limited

Rubber

The growing of rubber as an additional crop to tea on land that was not suitable for growing tea, was first introduced in Lungla and Allynugger Tea Estates in 1983. This was later extended to Mazdehee, Chatlapore, Etah, Karimpore, Hingajea, Silloah, Rajkie, Chaklapunji and Pallakandi with the latest clone varieties of rubber plant and expertise brought in from Malayasia, India and the UK. Both tea and rubber are compatible plantation crops and rubber grows well in soil not suitable for tea. Duncan's Rubber is environmentally friendly as it is a natuarally grown recyclable product unlike the synthetic ones. Also it has led us to better utilisation of available land.
